Hilton Sells Amid Money Pressure

In an apparent attempt to raise cash needed for Paris Hilton’s future bail, court fines, and criminal penalties – Hilton Hotels has agreed to be purchased by the Blackstone Group.

From Nation’s Restaurant News – BEVERLY HILLS , Calif. (Jul. 5) Hilton Hotels Corp. said it has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by The Blackstone Group in an all-cash transaction valued at $26 billion.  The Hilton brand generated systemwide food and beverage sales of $1.1 billion in 2006, placing it at number 43 on Nation’s Restaurants News’ Top 100 Chains ranking. Hilton Hotels Corp., based here, placed 35th on the Top 100 Companies ranking.

Our gossip reporter was not able to reach Paris for comment before press time, but we checked with the Recruiting Animal [known to be a big fan] who had this to say:

Have you seen that girl wash a car?  It would be criminal to have her in jail again and unable to do any more commercials like that.  I’m gonna to set up a radio-thon on my talk show to help augment the $26 billion – I’m not sure that’s enough, I wanna to make sure that she stays out of jail.
